Family Holidays

Children’s dreams can come true at Treworgey. Here on our 150 acre farm, they can run through a field, fly a kite, build dams in a stream, climb trees, picnic in a wood, toast marshmallows around a camp fire (in our safe and easy fire pit) or stroke a friendly goat or pony. For the energetic, we have shed space for storing your bikes or boat too and there are wonderful walks from your hut along our lanes and across Treworgey's beautiful 150 acres of rolling green hills down to the Looe river. Families enjoy our nature walks and wild life quiz around the farm and just over the horizon we have a wealth of fantastic sheltered small coves with sand and rock pools nearby. The big surfing beaches on the north coast are only an hour away.

Your family holiday here doesn't have to be all about slaving over a hot stove to feed the troops either - you can enjoy the freedom from domestic chores too. Delicious home made light suppers, puddings, cakes and even high tea can be delivered to your hut or fridge most days. You can even order all your groceries and local delicious Cornish food to await your arrival. See the 'Food' page for the current menus and more information. If you haven't been fooded out in your hut, there are lots of great restaurants nearby (see the 'Explore' page) that use local produce including our famous freshly caught Looe fish.

But isn't our lovely shepherd's hut just for two? Yes, but with ample space close by the hut to pitch your tent you can share this magical place with your family. To make sure that you enjoy our facilities at their best we invite you to bring along up to two campers.* We charge £10 per night per camper or £50 per week per camper, which includes fluffy towels (for the shower, but not the beach please!) and the use of all the hut's facilites.

Children are very welcome to camp with you on your stay at our shepherd's hut at Treworgey, but we do ask you to remember that the hut itself is really designed for adults and there are a log burner and heavy or fiddly items at accessible heights for children, plus gappy steps up into the hut which is raised almost a metre from the ground at floor level. With this in mind we recommend that the hut isn't suitable for babies and young children who are old enough to move about or toddle. For older children it can provide an exciting holiday with a difference. Please ask us if you would like more specific information for your needs.

With a truly fantastic view, log fire, wonderful walks, fishing villages and the sea and beaches nearby, we think you will love Treworgey as much as your children will.

*Please let us know if you are a family of five, we may sometimes be able to accommodate you, so do ask.
